 Let us know how to clean upholstery
Upholstery cleaning has always been a most tricky problem for you
and it always keep you confused about the right method of cleaning.
Even the carpet cleaner companies refuse to clean your upholstery;
they only want to take the fibers which are only man-made because
there is no risk of fading colour as well as chances of pile damage.
In this situation you feel helpless and lastly you adopt any wrong
kind of method for upholstery cleaning that is harmful for your
upholstery.
Sometimes you trust on the instruction given on the label of your
upholstery and that can also not be considered as good way of upholstery
cleaning. The basic reason behind this is that the manufacturers do not
much knowledge about cleaning because it is not related to their
profession and they mention the instructions only for the sake of
formality.
While thinking of upholstery cleaning, keep it in your mind that there
some fabric which should be cleaned wet. So before going to cleaning,
just make sure that your fabric comes in which category, wet cleanable
or dry cleanable, because your carelessness may make your fabric faded.
Let’s have little overview upon the categories; wet cleanable or dry
cleanable. It always a good practice to test the small area of your
fabric, if the colour of the fabric get faded by wetting then do not use
wet cleaning on that otherwise its ok. Flat weave cotton can be cleaned
wet but it is also required to be tested because the dyes are not always
stable. Keep in mind that wet clean doesn’t mean that you wet the fabric
for long time, it can damage your upholstery.
Once the fabric is tested for wet cleaning, then complete the following
steps:
• Vacuum the fabric thoroughly so that all the soil gets loosed.
• Spray the dry solvent on your upholstery and rub it smoothly so that
it will let maximum water to be dried after extraction. Rubbing is very
much effective on the greases.
• Take the best quality of alkaline fabric cleaner. You can either rub
the alkaline after spraying on the fabric or can brush the fabric.
• Keep aside for few minutes and rinse with clean water.
• For completely evaporation of excess water, spray dry solvent again.
• Further put the upholstery in speed drier, if the fabric is well
extracted.
So upholstery cleaning would not be big issue for you, if you keep
certain mentioned points in your mind. It is easier as well as
interesting.
